During his two-day visit to Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi awarded the winners of the Saansad Sanskrit Competition on Friday, with the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at the event. In BHU, PM Narendra Modi said, "The Kashi which is called more ancient than the time itself, its identity is being empowered by the young generation responsibly. This scene satisfies my heart, makes me feel proud and also gives the confidence that the youth will take the country to new heights on Amrit Kaal."


PM Narendra Modi praised the empowerment of Kashi's identity by the youth and highlighted the city's decade-long developmental journey.














PM Modi said, "In last 10 years, the development works that have been done in Kashi...the development journey it has undertaken in last 10 years, have all been mentioned in the coffee table book..."


"You know that we are just 'nimitt matr'. The 'doer' in Kashi is Mahadev. Wherever there is Mahadev's blessing, that land turns prosperous just like this. Right now, Mahadev is very happy. So with his blessings, in 10 years, Kashi saw the 'damru' of development playing in all directions," PM modi added.


According to an official statement, during the afternoon, the Prime Minister will participate in a public event in Varanasi, his parliamentary constituency, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for numerous development projects valued at over Rs 13,000 crore. These projects include enhancing road connectivity through the inauguration and foundation stone laying of several road projects, such as the four-laning of the Ghargra-Bridge-Varanasi section of National Highway 233 and the Sultanpur-Varanasi section of National Highway 56.


Additionally, to stimulate industrial growth in the region, he will inaugurate an HPCL LPG bottling plant in Sewapuri, Banas Kashi Sankul milk processing unit at UPSIDA Agro Park Karkhiyaon, and various infrastructure projects at the UPSIDA Agro Park. Furthermore, for the textiles sector, Modi will lay the foundation stone of a National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Varanasi, aiming to bolster the sector's education and training infrastructure.


In terms of healthcare, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for a new medical college and the National Centre of Ageing at Banaras Hindu University.


Additionally, he will inaugurate the Sigra Sports Stadium Phase-1 and District Rifle Shooting Range. At the Sant Guru Ravidas Janmasthali temple at Seer Govardhanpur near the Banaras Hindu University, the Prime Minister will inaugurate a newly-installed statue of Sant Ravidas in the adjoining Ravidas Park.

He will also inaugurate various development works around Sant Ravidas Janmasthali, valued at about Rs 32 crore, and lay the foundation stone for Sant Ravidas Museum and park beautification, worth about Rs 62 crore, the statement said.
