The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has opened online applications for PhD programmes for the 2024-25 academic session. Interested candidates can download the detailed e-prospectus from the university's official website at jnu.ac.in, and submit their applications by December 2, 2024. Admissions will be based on NET (UGC-CSIR), JRF, or GATE scores, with GATE applying only to the School of Engineering.

This year, JNU has aligned its PhD admission process with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 by adopting NET scores in place of its traditional in-house PhD entrance exam, the JNU Entrance Exam (JNUEE). Plans to reinstate the university's entrance exam were delayed due to a lack of feedback from school deans, leading to continued reliance on national-level exams for the 2024 admission cycle.
