JAC Exams 2021: Class 9 and 11 students studying in the Jharkhand State Board have been promoted without exams for the academic year 2020-21.


Jharkhand Secondary Education Director Harsh Mangla announced on Thursday that the exams for classes 9 and 11 have been canceled and all the students have been promoted to the next class without examination.

According to reports, about 8 lakh students in Jharkhand have been promoted to the next class without examination.


The notice issued by Director Harsh Mangla informs that the academic session of classes 9 and 11 ended on March 31, 2021, however, the examinations cannot be conducted to promote the students to the next academic session in view of the prevailing Covid situation.


"Promotion of students of classes 9th and 11th are necessary as because if they are not promoted at the right time for next class their future syllabus and study can be harmed. In the current situation, it is not possible to conduct exams or to open a school for at least two months from now mentions," the Director stated.


There are about 4.5 lakh students in Class 9 and 3.5 lakh students in Class 11. The Jharkhand Secondary Education Director also mentioned that this order is valid only for this year.


Earlier, students studying till Class 8 in Jharkhand State Board were promoted without examination due to the second wave of Covid-19. In view of the Covid spread, all schools in the state are closed and classes are being conducted online.


The Jharkhand Academic Council had postponed the Class 10 and 12 board examinations. The new dates for the board examinations are expected to be announced in June.
