Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on the 68th edition of the monthly radio broadcast 'Mann ki Baat'. After lauding the festivities being observed amid the Coronavirus situation, the PM talked about the importance of toys, dogs, nutrition and also urged Indians to support Indian technology and apps developed by fellow Indians.

"How can India become a toy production hub? This is necessary as toys can be used to build minds. Even Rabindra Nath Tagore has spoken about the importance of toys," said PM Modi.

Soon after, Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter and criticised the Prime Minister for not directly addressing the students' demand to postpone the upcoming JEE NEET 2020 exams.

The Wayanad MP wrote, "JEE-NEET aspirants wanted the PM do ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ but the PM did ‘Khilone Pe Charcha’".

Students from all over the country have been pleading to the union government to postpone the competitive exams further considering the Coronavirus situation. BJP leader Subramanian Swamy had also written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi citing 13 reasons why the exams should be postponed.

However, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has maintained that the JEE NEET 2020 will be conducted on scheduled dates this year. With only a few days remaining, students seem to have no other option than appearing for the national competitive exams.

The JEE (Main) 2020 will be held between September 1 to September 6 while the NEET (UG) exam will be held on September 13.
