IIT Mandi To Host 12th Convocation On Sept 28; 636 Graduates To Be Awarded

IIT Mandi's 12th Convocation on September 28, 2024, will honor 636 graduates with Chief Guest Mr. Manoj Jain, celebrating their academic excellence and dedication.

Mandi: The Indian Institute of Technology Mandi is preparing to host its 12th Convocation on Saturday, September 28, 2024. The ceremony will feature Mr. Manoj Jain, Chairman & Managing Director of Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), as the Chief Guest. He will be joined by Guests of Honor including Prof. Rajeev Ahuja, Director of IIT Ropar; Mr. Narendra Kumar Arya, Director of ER & IPR at DRDO; and Mr. Krishna Ika, CEO & Chairman of Brainwave Science. The event will be presided over by Lt. Gen. Kanwal Jeet Singh Dhillon (Retd.), Chairman of the Board of Governors at IIT Mandi.

Mr. Manoj Jain began his career at Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) in 1991 as a Probationary Engineer, after graduating with a Gold Medal in Electronics Engineering from MNIT Jaipur. Throughout his distinguished career, he has made substantial contributions to Research & Development, particularly in digital multiplexers, military switches, defense networks, and radar technologies.

Mr. Jain has held several pivotal leadership roles, including General Manager of BEL’s Product Development & Innovation Centre and the Electronic Warfare & Avionics SBU. His achievements have garnered him numerous awards, and he holds multiple patents for his innovative contributions.

Sharing his thoughts on the upcoming convocation event, Prof. Laxmidhar Behera, Director, IIT Mandi, stated, "I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all our graduating students. I wish them a fulfilling life and a successful professional journey ahead. This year's convocation will celebrate the achievements of 636 graduating students, including 297 undergraduates, 284 postgraduates, and 55 Ph.D. scholars.
