IGNOU Admission 2023: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will be closing the window for fresh admissions and re-registration for the July 2023 session. Candidates who wish to enroll in the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) Programmes can register on the official portal at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. For online Programmes, registration can be done at ignouiop.samarth.edu.in. It's important to note that the university had extended the registration deadline until July 31. Initially, the last date to apply for the Programmes was July 15.


For re-registration, candidates need to log in to the student portal using their username and password. The re-registration fee can be paid through various methods, including debit or credit card, net banking, or UPI.

  • Visit the official portal for re-registration - onlinerr.ignou.ac.in.

  • Read all the instructions given, and click on ‘Proceed for Re-Registration’.

  • Log in with the registration number and password.

  • Select your respective programme and enter the details.

  • Pay the application fee.

  • Submit the application form

  • Download the confirmation page.

  • Click on ‘click here for new registration’

  • Candidates will be redirected to another page

  • Fill in the details and generate a login id. 

  • Login with the credentials.

  • Fill the application form.

  • Upload the necessary documents and pay the fee

  • Submit the application form.

  • Download the confirmation page.

IGNOU Admission Registration: Documents Required


For admission in 2023, candidates will need to submit the following documents:




  1. Scanned Photograph: A recent passport-sized photograph of the candidate in digital format.




  2. Signature: Scanned copy of the candidate's signature in digital format.




  3. Copy of Age Proof: Document providing proof of the candidate's age, such as a birth certificate or school leaving certificate.




  4. Relevant Educational Qualification Certificates: Certificates or mark sheets of the candidate's educational qualifications, depending on the course they are applying for.




  5. Experience Certificate: If applicable, candidates may need to provide an experience certificate to support any relevant work experience required for certain courses.




  6. Category Certificate (if any): Candidates belonging to reserved categories (e.g., SC/ST/OBC) may need to submit a valid category certificate for admission under the reserved quota.




  7. BPL Certificate (if any): Candidates from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families may need to provide a BPL certificate as proof.
