The International Baccalaureate (IB) is pushing on to expand the adoption of the innovative Career-related Programme (CP) around the globe. At present, there are 26 schools in India which are authorised to offer IB-related programmes. Leading schools in various cities of India like Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar, Coimbatore, etc, are already offering IB’s Career-related Programme.
In the past two years, there has been a 300 percent rise in the number of schools introducing the IB curriculum. They also aim to expand into 100 new CP schools in next five years. The IB’s internationally recognised programmes have been widely known among parents across the globe with 370 schools authorised under the programme worldwide. Over 8,000 IB programmes are being offered across over 5,700 schools in 159 countries, as of October 2023.
The World Academy of Career Programmes (WACP) and the International Baccalaureate (IB) also staged the IBCP Confluence in Delhi which witnessed the participation of over 200 school leaders, educators, counsellors, and industry experts.
“The IB has been operating in India since 1976 with over 378 IB programmes across more than 220 schools. It has successfully launched several prominent programmes in schools across major cities in India, including Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar, Coimbatore, and many others. Our collaboration with WACP provides an opportunity for schools to gain deeper insights into the unique CP qualification and how its curriculum can empower both students and teachers to better prepare for the evolving demands of the future workforce,” Haif Bannayan, Global Director of Business Development, IB, was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
“We have witnessed a positive growth and enhancement of our student’s learning potential after introducing the IBCP programme with WACP CRS Artificial Intelligence & Business Administration at our school. The programme has benefited immensely in cultivating global-mindedness, preparing students for the ever-evolving future. With India poised as a global leader in the future, such programmes are the need of the hour. A programme like IBCP will help our students hone their skills and knowledge to work within a global community, creating opportunities and collaboration with others and help them build a strong foundation,” Capt. Rohit Sen Bajaj, School Director - Pathways School Gurgaon, was further reported as saying.
Notably, the IB’s globally recognised educational structure, not only empowers educators but also moulds students of Class 11 and Class 12 to directly steer into a career and field of their choice, or ace their further academics. The CP puts forth a unique amalgamation of academic studies and professional skills that usher students into a happy and successful life.
