Success Story Of IAS Topper Pradeep Kumar Dwivedi: It is difficult to predict the number of attempts one may require to succeed in UPSC. Many aspirants crack the UPSC in the first attempt and join the IAS cadre, while others may take longer.


Today we bring you the story of Pradeep Kumar Dwivedi, who became an IAS, and who had planned to appear for the UPSC twice. But his dream was not fulfilled in 2 attempts. He finally succeeded in his 3rd attempt and was able to clear the UPSC with AIR 74.


Pradeep belongs to a simple family, and hails from Bundelkhand. His father is a farmer and mother is a homemaker. He struggled a lot since childhood and decided to pursue engineering after intermediate. He obtained an electrical engineering degree from Bhopal, after which he got a government job in the Madhya Pradesh Electricity Department. After working for a few years, he decided to prepare for UPSC. At first, he decided that he would appear for UPSC only twice, and if he failed, he would resume working for the Madhya Pradesh Electricity Department. However, he succeeded in the third attempt.


How can you prepare for UPSC?
Pradeep Kumar Dwivedi believes that it is important to check the syllabus for the UPSC exam on the website before starting the preparation. This helps one understand the exam pattern. One can accordingly start preparing the study material. According to him, you need not take formal coaching initially. Self-study can be the first step in preparing for the exam.

Pradeep's advice to other aspirants
Pradeep believes that if you are stuck during preparation, you can always refer to the internet. Apart from this, you can also consult a senior. According to Pradeep, self-study is of utmost importance while preparing for UPSC. If you continue to strengthen your preparation, then you can definitely pass the exam.
