GATE 2019: How to apply
The candidates can register and fill the application form only through online mode on the official website. Steps to apply for the same is mentioned below-
Step 1) Visit the official website - gate.iitm.ac.in
Step 2) Click on the 'Apply Now' link
Step 3) Registered with a valid email ID and mobile number
Step 4) Log in to your account using your enrollment ID and password
Step 5) Fill in all the required details in the prescribed format
Step 6) Upload the required documents like photograph, signature
Step 7) Pay the application fee
Step 8) Take the print out of the same and keep it for future purpose

• Last date for registration (with late fee): October 1, 2018
• Last Date for Requesting Change of Examination City: November 16, 2018
• Mock Test Release: 3rd week of November 2018

• GATE Aptitude Test: February 2, 3, 9, 10, 2019
• Answer Key release date: Within a few days after the examination
• Results declaration: March 16, 2019

GATE 2019: Eligibility
• All the candidates interested in applying need to possess a graduate in BE, BTech, BPharmacy, BArch, BSc (Research), BS, MA, MSc, MCA, Int MSc or Int BSMS in 2018, OR
• The candidate should have completed their Int ME, MTech (post BSc) or a dual degree after 10+2 by 2019-20

GATE 2019: Exam pattern
• The exam will be conducted on 24 subjects including Aerospace Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Architecture and Planning, Biotechnology, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering among other subjects
• A candidate is allowed to appear in only one paper in any one session
• The exam consists of two sections
• The questions will be of both multiple choice type and fill in the blanks type
• Exam duration: 3 hours
• Exam questions: 65 questions for a total of 100 marks
• It will be an online computer based test
• After the time is over, the computer will automatically close the screen
• The paper will contain questions on general aptitude (15 marks), engineering mathematics (10-13 marks) and core engineering area of the candidate
