New Delhi: The National Education Policy aims to “internationalise” Indian education, and it plans to do it by enabling top domestic institutions to establish campuses abroad and inviting top foreign universities to open campuses in India with complete autonomy, University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Professor M Jagadesh Kumar said. He said the UGC is in the final stages of preparing the regulation that will enable Indian universities to open their campuses abroad. 


In an exclusive interview to ABP Live, Prof Kumar spoke on subjects ranging from the implementation of UGC’s draft regulation on bringing foreign universities to India and the challenges of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) to vacancies in central universities and the status of education in India.
