“Earlier, the Private Unaided Recognized Schools running on the land allotted by DDA/other Government agencies had been following the manual procedure for admission of EWS in the neighborhood to the extent of 20 per cent in the fresh admission in classes II onwards,” read an official statement issued by the Directorate of Education (DoE), Delhi.
“It was decided to fill all such vacancies/seats available under free-ship quota through computerized draw of lots after inviting online applications, in the similar manner as is being done in case of admissions at the entry-level classes under EWS/DG category in Private Unaided Recognized Schools,” clarified the Directorate.
The EWS Admissions 2019-20 in Delhi will be made against seats available in the private schools of Delhi that are built on government’s land. Interested and eligible parents, must submit the online applications for their wards on or before 4th March 2019.
As per a circular issued by the Directorate of Education (DoE), Delhi, the first list of seat allotment for will be released on 15th March 2019, next month.

Who’s eligible for EWS Admissions Delhi 2019-20 for Class II & Upwards?
As per the official notification, “Any person residing in Delhi, having the residence proof of Delhi and requisite Income Certificate (less than one lakh rupees annually) issued by the Revenue Department of Delhi, BPL/AAY (Ration Card/Food Security Card holder) are eligible for applying in these Private Unaided Recognized Schools for admission of their ward under
Economically Weaker Section Category.”
Also, the age of the student seeking admission should be 5+ but less than 6 years as on 31 st March 2019 for Class II Admissions and thereon more than12+ but less than 13 years for Class IX admissions under the EWS /Free-ship quota.
Selection Process:
Candidates will be selected via computerized draw of lots in 1:2 ratio and final selection of the candidates will be made by the Principal /HOS of the allotted school in accordance to Rule 145 of DSEAR, 1973.
