Delhi’s education minister Atishi on Thursday said that technical education institutions in the national capital should lead in the fields of research and innovation. She further said that the Aravind Kejriwal-led government in Delhi is committed towards providing excellent facilities to every student studying in different institutions in Delhi. The Delhi minister made these remarks while inaugurating two new state-of-the-art academic blocks at Delhi Technological University, news agency PTI reported. Each of the new academic blocks of the university consist of 8 stories and are equipped with "world-class modern facilities", Atishi added. 


She further added that the new academic blocks would serve as an example where students would have access to help them shape their career in the future, she further added. Our technical education institutions should lead in the fields of research and innovation," an official statement quoted the minister as saying. 


She further underlined that after attaining power, the Kejriwal government has always prioritized pushing technical education further. "We have consistently worked on developing excellent infrastructure for our universities. As a result, in the last eight years, the number of seats at the Delhi Technological University has increased from 6,000 to over 15,000," Atishi was quoted as saying by PTI.

Speaking further at the inauguration event, the Delhi education minister further said that the Delhi government always strives to ensure that the education and upskilling of students is not hampered by lack of world-class infrastructure or funding. She also underlined that the new academic blocks at the Delhi technological University pack in excellent labs, lecture halls, faculty rooms and conference rooms, besides being equipped with several other modern features. 


She said that facilities can cater to 5,200 students simultaneously. The eco-friendly academic blocks are also equipped with rooftop solar panels, a modular rainwater harvesting system and a connecting sky ramp, she added.
