Delhi EWS Admission 2024: Parents in Delhi looking to enroll their children in Classes 2 to 9 under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category in private schools have good news. The online application process for admission to free seats in these classes has begun today. These seats are reserved in private schools that are allocated land by the government and DDA (Delhi Development Authority).

Applications Open Till September 13; First Computerised Draw On September 20

Parents who wish to apply for their children’s admission under the EWS category can do so by visiting the official website at edudel.nic.in. Only one application per mobile number will be accepted, and it is mandatory to provide the Aadhaar card of the student’s parent. The online application process, which started today, will remain open until September 13.

The first computerised draw will be held on September 20, and selected students must report to the allotted school by October 4.

Discrepancies In Address Can Lead To Admission Cancellation

Parents will be given an opportunity to correct any errors made while filling out the application form. The residential address is a key criterion for the computerized draw, and if there is a discrepancy between the address provided in the application form and the one at the time of admission, the school may cancel the admission. For any queries or issues related to the admission process, parents can contact the helpline number: 9818154069.

Annual Income Should Be Less Than One Lakh

To be eligible for admission under the EWS category, the parents' annual income must be less than one lakh rupees, and they must be permanent residents of Delhi. This will be verified through a valid residential certificate and an income certificate issued by the Revenue Department. BPL (Below Poverty Line) and AAY (Antyodaya Anna Yojana) cardholders are also eligible to apply.
