The party demanded an immediate rollback of the hike and also decided to launch a state-wide agitation to press the demand, the statement said. The CBSE has increased the fees of Class 10 and 12 board examinations by up to Rs 1,150. The fees for general category students for both Class 10 and 12 have been doubled from Rs 750 to Rs 1,500 for five subjects. The SC and ST students, who were paying Rs 350 earlier, will now be supposed to pay Rs 1,200 for five subjects.
The ultra-Left party also deplored the scrapping of Article 370 and 35 A of the Constitution, alleging "this has resulted in burning the bridges that connected Jammu and Kashmir to the rest of the country ... ". "This undemocratic step of the government is not going to benefit anybody in Jammu and Kashmir. It may only herald a
