CLAT 2019 was scheduled to be organized on 12th May 2019, however, several reports are doing rounds on the internet that in the wake of Lok Sabha elections the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2019 has been postponed and will now be held on 26th May 2019. The official website of the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) – clatconsortiumofnlu.ac.in has no new update on this development at the time of publishing this article. However, candidates seeking admissions to Five-year Integrated Degree in Law and One-year degree in LLM at the 21 National Law Universities (NLUs) across India must keep a close tab on the official website given above to stay abreast with the latest development (if any).

Also, reports are riff that the last date to register online for CLAT 2019 has also been extended from 31st March 2019 to 15th April 2019, next month.

“As phase 6 of the elections were scheduled on May 12 - date of the CLAT 2019 exam - the CLAT consortium changed the date to May 26. The last date for submission of applications too has been changed to April 15 from March 31,” CLAT 2019 Convenor and Vice-Chancellor of National Law University (NLU), Odisha, Dr Srikrishna Deva Rao was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

The schedule of General Elections 2019 came in earlier last week, and ever since, a plethora of state-level as well as national-level examinations have undergone a change in schedule. The country will go into election mode from 11th April 2019 next month with a 7-phase election schedule that will conclude on 19th May 2019. The result of Lok Sabha Polls 2019 will be out on 23rd May 2019. The examinations falling between these dates have mostly been revised and will now be held after the elections will get over.
