Chhattisgarh Schools Reopening: Schools in Chhattisgarh are set to reopen from August 2, 2021, onwards. However, the state government has decided to reopen the schools in a phased manner. At present, schools will start their offline classes only for classes 10 and 12 students. On the other hand, Gram Panchayats can decide to reopen schools for students of classes 1 to 5 and class 8 in rural areas.


According to reports, online classes for learning-teaching will continue along with offline classes. It has not been made mandatory for students to attend offline classes. Along with this, schools across the state have been instructed to strictly follow the Covid-19 guidelines and protocols.


Schools reopening due to fall in the Covid-19 cases:


The state government has decided to reopen the schools because of the decline in the active cases of the Covid-19 across the state. However, the state government has said that schools will reopen only in those districts where the Covid-19 positivity rate is less than 1% in the last seven days.


Schools in Chhattisgarh will reopen from August 2: Here are the important guidelines



  • Offline classes will be conducted on alternate days.

  • Schools will be opened with 50% student capacity

  • Students with symptoms like cold, fever or cough will not be allowed to attend offline classes.

  • Students, staff and teachers are advised to maintain social distancing while on campus.

  • Wearing a mask, washing hands at regular intervals is mandatory


Industrial training institutes to re-open from August 2


Apart from offline classes in Chhattisgarh schools, the state government has also allowed hostels and residential schools to reopen in the tribal-dominated Bastar division. All the Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in the state will also reopen from August 2, 2021. While medical, engineering and polytechnic colleges will reopen in a phased manner, keeping in mind the Covid-19 pandemic.
