CBSE Exam Registration: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started the registration process for Classes 9 and 11 regular students for the academic session 2018-19 on the official website cbse.nic.in. The affiliated schools should register themselves before proceeding for online registration. After registering, the schools then need to log in with their Affiliation Number in order to register regular students of classes 9th and 11th enrolled in their respective schools. Schools can complete the registration process by individual entry or uploading filled in excel file provided by the online registration system. The online registration process will end on October 22.


As per the official notification, CBSE has advised the schools to offer subjects permitted by the board, else CBSE may take action against the school which leads to cancellation of candidature of such students.

Is ‘Aadhaar’ necessary?

• Aadhaar is preferred but Not mandatory for Indian Nationals
• As per the notice, Aadhaar number field has been provided and the use of Aadhaar for the students will result in accuracy of the students’ details
• However, the students not possessing Aadhaar number may enter the Passport number, Ration card number, Bank account number or any other government valid identity
• In respect of foreign nationals, passport number can be provided. If passport number is not available, Social Security Number/ID Number issued by that Foreign Country may be mentioned

Application fee

• The students have to pay an application fee of Rs 150
• Students with disabilities will get exemptions
• Candidates can submit application fee till October 30 with a late fee of Rs 500, Rs 1000, Rs 2000 and Rs 5000 for registration from October 31 to November 12, November 13 to November 20 and November 21 to November 28, respectively
