New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education on Thursday announced that the Term 1 board exams for Classes 10 and 12 will be conducted offlne and date sheet for the same will be announced on October 18.

As per the circular issued by CBSE, the Term-1 examination will be conducted between November-December and the duration of examination will be 90 minutes.

The Term-2 examination will be conducted in the month of March-April 2022, CBSE said adding that it could be a subjective/objective type of examination depending on the condition of Coronavirus in the country.

All examinations will conducted in offline mode, the board said.

Keeping in mind the uprecedented outbreak of Coronavirus, CBSE has, this year, decided to conduct the board examination in two terms. The syllabus has been equally divided for the two exams, and the marks scored in both will carry an equal weightage in the final marksheet.

In order to make it easy for students, who have already suffered due to shutting of schools for most of the academic year, the education board has decided to divide subjects of Class 10 and Class 12 into two groups – minor and major subjects.

In total CBSE Board exams for Class 10 and 12 are conducted for as many as 189 papers. The board has said that it will take around 45 days to complete all the papers.

“As major subjects are offered by almost all the affiliated schools, hence exams of these subjects will be conducted by fixing date sheets as done earlier. Regarding minor subjects, CBSE will make group of schools offering these subjects and thus more than one paper will be conducted by CBSE in the schools on a day,” the board has said earlier.

Meanwhile, several state boards have decided to follow the CBSE model for their examinations.

The exams for minor subjects would be scheduled first, followed by the exam for major subjects.
