New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in partnership with UNICEF has launched an online portal for career guidance and counseling of students of classes 9 to 12 in all affiliated schools. The career guidance and counseling portal of CBSE is available on the official website at cbsecareerguidance.com.
CBSE claims that through the Individual Career Dashboard, students will be able to access more than 560+ careers, over 3 lakh courses from 25,000 colleges and professional institutes, 1200 scholarships, and 1150 entrance exams. In addition to this, two teachers or counselors per school will be trained through a digital training session and an individual counselor dashboard will also be provided to access the entire career curriculum which will be used to guide the students on their career-related questions.

The career portal will provide information about careers, college directories, courses, scholarships, and competitive entrance examinations from many countries. UNICEF, along with partners from 13 state governments and the private sector, has customized career portals in regional languages, reaching out to 21 million adolescents to help them access education and work-related resources.
According to Terry Durnian, Education Chief, UNICEF India, “The pandemic has raised concerns among millions of youth about their future livelihoods and the skills they need to thrive in the 21st century. UNICEF has supported career guidance portals in many states." He further adds, “UNICEF is delighted to partner with the Central Board of Secondary Education in collaboration with iDream Careers to develop the CBSE Career Guidance Portal.”
