The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that the practical exam for Classes 10 and 12 will begin on January 1, 2025, with theory exams starting from February 15, 2025. For winter-bound schools, practical exams will be conducted earlier, from November 5 to December 5, 2024, as these schools will be closed in January 2025.

CBSE has also released detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines for conducting Practical Exams, Project Work, and Internal Assessments in winter-bound schools. Additionally, subject-wise marks distribution for Classes 10 and 12 has been issued. Schools are advised to carefully review and ensure the accuracy of the marks before uploading, as corrections cannot be made once submitted.

To assist in the smooth conduct of both practical and theory exams, CBSE has provided a comprehensive list of subjects for both classes. This includes details such as class, subject code, subject name, maximum marks for theory, practicals, project assessments, internal assessments, and the appropriate type of answer book for the theory exams.

“The Practical Examinations/ IA for class X and XIl and the Board's Annual Theory Examinations are scheduled to start w.e.f. 01/01/2025 and 15/02/2025 respectively,” CBSE said in a circular.

"Maximum marks allotted to each subject are 100 with marks distribution among theory, practical, project and IA components as per the details given in the list," it adds.
