According to reports, the BSEB has promoted 2,14,287 lakh students who had failed in the annual exam. The decision to cancel the compartmental exams and clear students by giving them grace marks were announced by State Education Minister Krishna Nandan Prasad Verma. He said that the students who were close to passing marks been given grace marks. He also said decision was taken due to the Covid 19 situation.
After this decision of the board, the number of students who have cleared the exams passed has changed. This year out of a total of 1,32,486 candidates in the intermediate examination, 46005 candidates in one subject and 86481 candidates failed in two subjects. While in class X, 1,08,459 in one subject and 99,688 in two subjects failed out of 2,08,147 candidates. After awarding grace marks, 72,610 more candidates (54.81%) have passed the intermediate examination, while 1,41,677 more candidates (68.07%) have passed in Matriculation.
The BSEB had announced the matriculation board examinations (Class 10) results in May. Over 15 lakh students had appeared for the class 10 exams which were held from February 17 to February 24 across 1368 exam centres in Bihar.
