Assam Education Department Recruitment: The Assam government has announced vacancies for 7,249 graduate teacher positions and 1,424 postgraduate teacher positions across various provincialised secondary schools under the state's Directorate of Secondary Education. Detailed information regarding district-wise, subject-wise, medium-wise, and category-wise posts will be accessible on madhyamik.assam.gov.in and dee.assam.gov.in. The official website will also host the details on application dates of the TET cum recruitment test.


Taking to his X handle Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma said, “Today, our government has announced advertisements for over 10,000 vacancies in the Education Department.”


“We will not only deliver but exceed our promise of creating more than 1 lakh government jobs in the most transparent manner in Assam’s history,” the CM added.


The Assam government's endeavor aims to address vacancies and extend job prospects to the state's youth through the Chief Minister’s 1 Lakh Employment Scheme.


In a series of posts on X, Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said the Directorate of Secondary Education has released the advertisement for 1,424 post-graduate and 7,249 graduate teachers.


Pegu said the Directorate of Elementary Education has also released an advertisement for recruitment of 3,800 Assistant Teachers of Lower Primary (LP) Schools.

The recruitment of graduate teachers encompassing various disciplines such as arts, science, Hindi, and Sanskrit for provincialized secondary schools is underway. Provincialization entails the government assuming responsibility for all obligations of non-government schools originally established to provide education for societal benefit. This includes disbursing salaries and other entitlements to teachers, as explained by officials.

Notably, the BJP had initially promised to deliver one lakh government jobs per year in Assam during the 2021 assembly polls, subsequently specifying that this number represented the entirety of the five-year tenure.
