AIIMS INI CET 2021: Twenty-six doctors from many states across India on Monday sought Supreme Court's direction regarding the postponement of the AIIMS INI CET 2021 examination in view of the covid-19 pandemic. The institute has scheduled to conduct the INI CET 2021 examination on June 16, 2021.

The petitioner doctor informed news agency ANI that holding the AIIMS INICET 2021 examination is an utter disregard to the assurance provided by PM Modi while postponing the NEET-PG 2021 examination to August 31, 2021.

"Article 14 of the Constitution of India is set to be violated because there is a violation to the differentiation in terms of postponing one PG examination for doctors is undertaken. However, the same doctors are now forced to take the INI-CET examination, which in itself is unreasonable or arbitrary and does not rest on any rational basis," the petitioner was quoted by ANI in its report.

Conducting AIIMS INI CET 2021 examination in the present situation when there is non-availability of doctors, beds in the hospitals, and the shortage of the vaccination is not in the public interest, said, petitioner.

"This step-motherly attitude towards the doctors is completely uncalled for. Further, Standard 10 and 12 examinations have been canceled which itself shows that the government is conscious of the fact that the deadly virus is a threat amongst the younger population," the plea added.

The institute conducts the INI CET examination for admissions into the PG courses such as Masters of Surgery (MS), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Dental Surgery (MDS), Doctorate of Medicine (DM), and Master of Chirurgie (MCh) offered by eight AIIMS all across India, and NIMHANS Bengaluru, JIPMER Puducherry and PGI Chandigarh.
