The total time duration to complete the paper is 3 hours.

The candidates will be given two marks for each correct attempt and there will be no negative marking.

Strategy to crack the exam:

Time management skills: The candidates must make it a habit to set the time limit for any topic which they study or any mock test which they take in order to understand their actual performance level. This is important as the students preparing for the exam well fail to finish the paper on time several times.

Clear your concepts: A candidate needs to have a thorough knowledge of the concerned subjects in order to crack this exam. One must prepare with full focus so that they can attempt all questions with ease from any topic.

Exam analysis: A candidate must attentively go through the UGC NET papers of the previous year and try to analyze the frequency or the pattern of repeating questions/concepts.

Smart study: A candidate should study smartly for the exam rather than focusing on each and every topic. One must prepare effectively instead of counting the number of hours of study.

Practice mock tests: Mock tests can help in a candidate’s preparation in several ways. It helps the candidate in developing the right strategy besides helping the student in learning new techniques and solving the questions in a better way. In addition, mock tests guide a candidate to understand the importance of time management besides helping in analyzing the performance and preparation level.

Revision: Revising the concepts on a regular basis is the key to success as it helps a candidate in increasing his retention power and memorizing the important points.

Positive attitude: One should never give up, no matter what had happened in the past. The negative thoughts often tend to distract one’s mind, but the focus must be on self-belief with a positive attitude.
