A massive fire broke out at a shopping complex in Greater Noida near Gaur City 1. Visuals from the site showed two people jumping from the third floor of Galaxy Plaza in Greater Noida West to save their lives as smoke billowed from the building.
Several people have been injured in the incident and admitted to hospital, ANI reported.
Both the persons who jumped from the building are safe and out of danger. Authorities suspect that the fire was caused due to an electrical short circuit.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognisance of the incident and directed senior officials and fire brigade teams to reach the spot and carry out the relief work expeditiously.
The Chief Minister also directed the officials of the district administration to immediately take the injured to hospital and give them proper treatment. Adityanath wished speedy recovery of all the injured.
Earlier this month, a massive fire broke out at a showroom in Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi, killing four people including a woman. The fire engulfed a three-storey electronics showroom and a sports store located in Sipri Bazar area, PTI reported.

On Wednesday, around 20 vehicles were damaged in a massive blaze at a car service centre in Delhi's Mayapuri area, PTI reported. There were no reports of any injuries.
Officials said the fire broke out on the first floor of the showroom and 19 fire tenders were pressed into action.
Delhi Fire Service Director Atul Garg said a call about the fire was received at 7.25 am. The fire was doused off within an hour.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Vichitra Veer said teams of police and the DDMA were also involved in dousing the flames at the Mahindra Service Centre in Mayapuri Phase-I, PTI reported.
Around 15-20 vehicles got burnt partially or completely, DCP Veer said. The cause of the fire is being ascertained.
