The Enforcement Directorate is conducting raids at nine premises linked to Delhi Minister Raaj Kumar Anand. According to news agency ANI, the searches began early Thursday morning. Official sources told PTI that the raids are being conducted as part of a money laundering investigation. His premises in the Civil Lines area and a few other locations are being searched by the federal agency, the official sources said. The ED search teams are escorted by a team of the CRPF, the officials added.

The 57-year-old minister holds the social welfare and SC/ST welfare profile among others in the CM Arvind Kejriwal-led government. He is an MLA from Patel Nagar.

Responding to the development, BJP leader Harish Khurana claimed the entire Delhi cabinet was busy with scams, adding the matter was related to hawala and customs.

"Not just Arvind Kejriwal, but his whole cabinet is busy in scams. ED has taken action under the law. As per the reports, it is a matter of hawala and customs, and some documents were seized, based on this, the ED has conducted raids today... A series will start in some time from the AAP that this is a conspiracy and vendetta politics, we are the victims. They have to understand that the action is per the law... No need to fear if you have done nothing wrong. Your fear is reasonable if you are corrupt... The nervousness shows that the whole government is corrupt..."

This comes on a day when CM Kejriwal is set to appear before the ED in connection with the excise policy case.
