Several areas in Delhi have been reeling under a water crisis for weeks amid the relentless heatwave conditions, with little to no supply. Amidst this, the Delhi BJP leaders and MPs along with the party workers held a protest against the AAP-led Delhi government on Monday over the ongoing water crisis in the national capital.

BJP MPs Manoj Tiwari, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, Bansuri Swaraj, Yogendra Chandolia, and Praveen Khandelwal also staged protests against AAP at different places in Delhi.

The BJP protesters were seen carrying bottles of dirty water, while raising slogans against the AAP government. They also smashed matkas (earthen pitchers) to demonstrate their protest over water crisis in the national capital, news agency PTI reported.

The saffron leaders also alleged that people in the capital were falling sick as they were being forced to drink dirty water from the taps amid the prevailing scarcity.

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, during a protest in Geeta Colony, claimed that Delhi was receiving its full share of water into Yamuna from Haryana.

AAP Hand In Glove With Tanker Mafias: BJP

"This water gets stolen by tanker mafia after it enters Delhi because the ministers and MLAs of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party are hand in glove with them," Sachdeva alleged.

Sachdeva also alleged that there is "water theft" in Delhi and that the AAP leaders are involved in the "black-marketing" of water, news agency ANI reported.

"There is theft of water. Arvind Kejriwal and his leaders are black-marketing
water. If the theft, black-marketing and leakage is stopped Delhi will get water," the Delhi BJP chief said.

Sachdeva stated that the Delhi BJP unit will continue to ptotest till the time people in the national don't get water. "They are stealing water. If water wastage is stopped, people will get the needed amount of water. They talk about providing free water and then they give dirty water. This is shameful. They are just looting people. They are building their lavish houses..." he charged.

"The party has been in power for the last 10 years but people are getting contaminated water," he said.

'Delhi Struggling For Water Under AAP's Rule': BJP

Meanwhile, North East Delhi MP Tiwari, staged a protest along with party leaders and workers in Mukherjee Nagar, where he slammed Delhi water minister Atishi, alleging "theft" by tanker mafia.

New Delhi MP Bansuri Swaraj alleged that the AAP was elected by Delhi to work for it, instead the party got involved in publicity and corruption, PTI reported.

Criticising AAP for "causing suffering", she said: "It is so unfortunate that the government that used to talk about giving free water, during their rule, Delhi is struggling for water. This is the voice of the people of Delhi who are in a dire state. They are suffering because the AAP government has not done a single thing to conduct any repair work for Delhi Jal Board's infrastructure in the last decade."

BJP MP from Chandni Chowk Praveen Khandelwal also alleged that AAP wanted the water crisis to persist in order to remain involved in politics over the issue.

Khandelwal also lashed out at Delhi CM Kejriwal, asking him why he has not been able to find a "permanent solution" to the problem.

"Water crisis is not new, it has occurred every year for the last 10 years since Arvind Kejriwal's government came to power. I want to ask him why when this crisis occurs every year, why has he not found a permanent solution to it?" Khandelwal questioned.

Delhi Water Crisis BJP-Made: AAP

Meanwhile, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, in a counter attack at the BJP, alleged that the water crisis in Delhi was set up by the saffron Party.

During a press conference on Monday, Singh accused the saffron party of hatching a conspiracy against the people of Delhi.

"There was no immediate reaction from the BJP on the allegations. We believe, 'pyase ko paani pilane se zyada punya ka kaam nahi hota,' and there is no bigger sin than stopping water. I am saying there is a BJP-sponsored water crisis. BJP wants no water for Delhi people and there are doing all conspiracies to ensure it," Singh alleged.

The AAP MP also said that Delhi gets water from Haryana, and claimed that the water shortage was a result of the BJP-ruled state not giving the required water.

"We are not getting water as per our demand. When we request the Haryana government, they don't listen. We request the LG but he doesn't do the required work," he claimed.
