A man and his mother were killed in an accident after their bike collided with a divider in southeast Delhi's Sarai Kale Khan area. The Delhi Police has said the duo was going towards ITO from Faridabad when their bike rammed into the divider. The police stated that the information about the incident was reported at the Sunlight Colony police station on Saturday night and that the collision happened at Gate No. 4 IP Park in Sarai Kale Khan.


The deceased have been identified as Shanti Devi and her son Rahul, both residents of Faridabad, news agency PTI reported.


Although both the injured were rushed to the LNJP Hospital immediately for medical treatment, they later succumbed to the injuries, Delhi Police stated.





According to an eye witness, the man suddenly lost the balance of the motorcycle after which it skidded and collided with the divider leading to serious injuries, PTI reported.


25-Year-Old Killed In Bike Accident In Delhi 


In another bike accident, a 25-year-old reportedly died after his motorcycle collided with a stationary truck in Delhi Cantt on February 7. The police said that the truck driver was arrested for allegedly failing to take necessary safety precautions, TOI reported.


After the police were informed about the incident of a man lying on the RTR road, a team rushed to the spot where they found the motorcycle lodged into the truck's rear. The injured man was then rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

The accused driver had allegedly parked his truck on the roadside without turning the parking light on. His vehicle did not have the reflector tapes and its number plate was also covered in grease, a police officer stated. Moreover, the accident site was poorly lit and the CCTV footage could not be retrieved.


"Pieces of the helmet found at the scene suggested the victim's helmet had shattered upon impact," TOI quoted the police officer saying.
