New Delhi: Delhi logged a minimum temperature of 15.4 degrees Celsius on Holi and the maximum temperature will settle at 31 degrees Celsius according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The national capital will see a warm and sunny day as people celebrate Holi in full swing after two years of muted festivities.
The MeT department has predicted the temperature to rise to 34 degrees Celsius by the weekend.
On Tuesday, the IMD predicted Delhi will see partly cloudy skies on Holi, even as the maximum temperature in the national capital settled at 31.3 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal, PTI reported.
The national capital registered a low of 15 degrees Celsius, on Monday, two notches above the season's average, and a high of 30.5 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal.

The average maximum temperature in Delhi for the month of February this year was pegged at 27.7 degrees Celsius, the third highest in the last 63 years. The country logged its warmest February since the IMD started maintaining records in 1901, with maximum temperatures touching 29.54 degrees Celsius.
The meteorological office has also said there is an enhanced probability of heat waves between March and May.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi Monday chaired a high-level meeting to review preparedness for the hot weather condition in the upcoming summer season and called for preparing separate awareness material for different stakeholders like common citizens, medical professionals, local body authorities and disaster response teams.
The Food Corporation of India was asked to take measures to ensure optimal storage of grains in extreme weather conditions, the PMO said, noting the prime minister was also briefed about the expected yield of major crops. Ongoing efforts to monitor irrigation water supply, fodder and drinking water were also reviewed in the meeting, the statement said.
PM Modi instructed India Meteorological Department to prepare daily weather forecasts in a manner that makes predictions easy to interpret and disseminate.
He also stressed the need for detailed fire audits of all hospitals and said mock fire drills be conducted by firefighters in all hospitals.
