Weather Update: Dense fog enveloped cities across North India on Monday amid coldwave conditions, significantly affecting visibility. Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department reported moderate fog in the national capital. A thin layer of fog covered Delhi on Monday morning, impacting visibility as the city grapples with coldwave conditions. The adverse weather also disrupted train services at the New Delhi Railway Station.






Train services at the New Delhi Railway Station were affected due to inclement weather.






The India Meteorological Department said that dense to very Dense fog was seen in areas of Uttar Pradesh, isolated pockets of Bihar, and moderate fog was witnessed in isolated pockets of Punjab, Delhi, and Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, shallow fog was seen in isolated pockets of Rajasthan, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh.


"Fog conditions observed (at 0530 hours IST of today): Dense to very Dense fog over some parts of Uttar Pradesh; in isolated pockets of Bihar; Moderate fog in isolated pockets of Punjab, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh; Shallow fog in isolated pockets of Rajasthan, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh," IMD said.






As per the weather office today was recorded to be equal to or less than 500 meters in various locations: Punjab: Patiala-200, Amritser-500; Delhi: Palam-200, Safdarjung-500; Rajasthan: Ganganagar, Jaipur-500 each; Uttar Pradesh: Bareilly, Bahraich, Gorakhpur -25 each.


The national capital recorded a minimum temparature at 6.8 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average, PTI reported. The weathermen have forecast a partly cloudy sky for the day with the maximum temperature expected to settle at 21 degrees Celsius.
