IMD Predicts Light Rain For Delhi As Capital Records Minimum Temperature Of 17.7°C

The weather department has predicted light rain in Delhi while the minimum was recorded to be 17. 7 degrees Celsius.

The India Meteorological Department, on Tuesday, predicted light rain over Delhi as the national capital also recorded a minimum temperature of 17. 7 degrees Celsius. The humidity at 8:30 am was recorded at 70 per cent and the maximum temperature is supposed to touch 34 degrees Celsius, according to a PTI report.

The recent spell of rain has helped in bringing down the AQI and according to a report by PTI, it stands at 120 which falls under the moderate category (generally an AQI between 0 and 50 is considered good, 51 and 100 is satisfactory, 101-200 is moderate while 201 and 300 are poor, 301 and 400 very poor, 401 and 500 severe).

According to the IMD, thunderstorms and lightning are also likely over Punjab and Haryana from March 28-30. 

The bulletin also says that rainfall has been predicted for several states including Northeastern states Assam, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim which will see fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall with isolated thunderstorms and lightening on March 25-26. 

Isolated thunderstorms and lightning are also likely over West Bengal and Sikkim and isolated heavy rainfall and snowfall is also likely over Arunachal Pradesh today. A fresh western disturbance is also likely to affect the Western Himalayan region and can cause scattered to fairly widespread light rainfall/snowfall with isolated thunderstorms and lightning in Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad. 

Meanwhile, the IMD has also said that there will be a rise in maximum temperatures by 2-3 degrees over Northwest India in the next two days and a gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 2-4 degrees over East and Central India and the interiors of Maharashtra during the next 4-5 days. Furthermore, hot and humid conditions will likely prevail over Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe from March 26 to 30.
