A four-story building collapsed in north Delhi's Shastri Nagar on Monday, news agency PTI reported citing an official source.

The video of the incident, which was confirmed by police, was posted on Twitter by the news agency ANI.

"No injury or casualties were reported since the building was empty," a senior police officer was quoted as saying by PTI.

The official added that the incident was reported around 8:45 am.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Sagar Singh Kalsi, the building's owner, Balraj Arora, had it abandoned in May after cracks appeared. The municipal department was made aware of the situation.

The MCD inspected the site, he said.
