Arvind Kejriwal Arrested: After Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was remanded to judicial custody on Monday until April 15 in the Delhi Liquor Policy case, his wife Sunita Kejriwal asked why he had been sent to jail. She further stated that the people of this country will answer this dictatorship.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) sought fifteen-day judicial custody for CM Kejriwal, citing his "non-cooperative behaviour" during the investigations. "Kejriwal's conduct has been non-cooperative, and he is giving evasive replies. The ED may require further custody in the future," said Additional Solicitor General (ASG) SV Raju, who represented the central probe agency in the court.
Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri took a swipe at the Delhi CM's wife, Sunita Kejriwal, and compared her to former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi. He said, "A Rabri Devi is in the making. I have already said 3–4 times in the past 7–10 days that 'Rabri Devi' will come forward now. I mean to say that Sunita Kejriwal will come forward now."
After Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court sent Kejriwal to judicial custody, Bihar Deputy CM Vijay Sinha slammed the AAP chief and said that those who are punished today should know that the judgement was given by the court and not PM Modi. "One who loots public money, misleads people, weakens the nation and speaks in favourite of terrorists...those punished today should know that the judgement was given by the court and not PM Modi," Sinha said.
After the court's decision, Kejriwal was taken to Tihar Jail, where he will be lodged in Jail Number 2.
