Amidst the controversy surrounding Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s diabetes treatment in Tihar jail, Delhi minister and AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj on Sunday accused the Central government of conspiring to kill an elected CM. Bharadwaj highlighted a letter from the DG of Tihar jail to AIIMS requesting a diabetologist, contradicting BJP’s claims of adequate medical facilities.

He stated, “Not only in India but many international media outlets are witnessing how a central govt can conspire to kill an elected CM”.

"The DG of Tihar jail yesterday wrote to AIIMS that we need a diabetologist, this exposed the BJP as till yesterday they were saying that they have all specialists, everything be it Insulin available in jail and Arvind Kejriwal is lying," Bharadwaj said.

"A normal doctor, I don't know how he is there in jail, on his recommendations all these manipulations are being done and the elected CM of Delhi is being denied Insulin," he added.

The Delhi minister alleged manipulation in Kejriwal’s treatment, claiming that a normal doctor’s recommendations were being used to deny the CM insulin.

Echoing similar sentiments, another Delhi Minister and AAP leader Atishi said, "Such cruelty even didn't happen under the Britishers. What kind of cruelty is this from the BJP that they're denying insulin to a diabetic having a sugar level above 300".

In response, jail authorities stated that Kejriwal was not advised insulin and had stopped insulin dosage before his arrest. According to a report submitted to the Delhi Lt. Governor, Kejriwal was on an insulin reversal program and was only taking a basic anti-diabetes oral tablet called Metformin.

The Aam Aadmi Party accused authorities of endangering Kejriwal’s life by denying him insulin. The report clarified that the Delhi CM’s diabetes was managed with oral anti-diabetic drugs, and he had consultations with a medicine specialist on April 10 and April 15. It refuted claims of insulin denial during his treatment.
