Sanjay Singh Bail: The Aam Aadmi Party on Tuesday welcomed the Supreme Court's decision to grant bail to the party's Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh in a money-laundering case linked to the excise policy case. "A big day for democracy in the country, moment of happiness and hope," the AAP said, as quoted by news agency PTI.

AAP leader Atishi on Tuesday shared the news of Singh's bail in a post on X and said in Hindi, "Satyameva Jayate." Singh was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money-laundering case linked to the Delhi government's now-scrapped excise policy on October 4.

On Supreme Court granted bail to AAP MP Sanjay Singh, his mother Radhika Singh thanked the Supreme Court and said that her son is innocent and should not have been arrested. "We are happy, we were waiting for this. We thank the Supreme Court. My son is innocent. He should not have been arrested but I am happy that he has got bail," she said.

Farrukh Khan, counsel for Sanjay Singh in the Delhi Excise policy case said that Sanjay Singh will be out soon after furnishing bail bonds. "The Supreme Court has accepted Sanjay Singh's bail petition today. Senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi did the arguments for Sanjay Singh. He presented as to how Sanjay Singh was implicated. Sanjay Singh will be out soon after furnishing bail bonds," Khan said.

AAP national spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar said, "Today God is with us, Bajrang Bali is with us, truth has won. We were saying from the beginning that this entire case is fake and has been written in the BJP office. Even after about 500 raids, not even a single penny was recovered. Today the Supreme Court also said, what is the point of keeping him in custody when no money trail is found."

AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj said, "The Supreme Court said how can it be accepted that a person gave 11 statements, you did not accept his 10 statements and accepted 1 statement which was against Sanjay Singh and put him in jail. The Supreme Court also asked whether any money was recovered or attached. ED has no answer to this...today is a big day for democracy."

AAP MP Sanjay Singh, General Secretary of Communist Party of India (CPI) D. Raja said, "It is a blow to the politics of vendetta persuaded by Union Government...This will give the hope that others will also get bail & will be released. Truth will triumph & justice will prevail."

A bench of Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Justice Dipankar Datta and Justice PB Varale ordered Singh's release. The ED said it had no objection if the AAP leader was given bail.

'They Can't Claim ED Is Indulging In Vendetta Politics': BJP On Sanjay Singh's Bail

The Bharatiya Janata Party also reacted to the bail granted to AAP leader Sanjay Singh. BJP Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said, "There's no stranger party than AAP. They claim that they are a intellectual lot but they're unable to distinguish between an ordinary routine matter of fact bail in an matter and what is clean chit in a case. In over enthusiasm, they've put AAP in further danger. This bail came when ED didn't oppose. That means, they can't claim ED is indulging in vendetta politics. With the celebrations, they're accepting that the leaders who've not got bail are guilty. It means Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, who're not getting bail, are guilty."

Delhi BJP chief Virendraa Sachdeva said, " We are not after the CM post. Saurabh Bharadwaj, Atishi and their other leaders wanted to become CM. Kejriwal yesterday named them. Atishi named Raghav Chhadha and Durgesh also."
