UP News: A 17-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped for 10 days in Uttar Pradesh's Bhadohi, police said on Saturday, as reported by news agency PTI. The police further stated that the girl was rescued on Saturday, and the accused was arrested. The accused was identified as Rajesh Dubey.
According to a police officer, the girl left her house for college on the morning of December 18 but did not return. Her brother lodged a police complaint on December 19.
Dubey was arrested from Prayagraj district and booked under sections 363 (kidnapping), 366 (inducing to compel for marriage), and 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code and the POCSO Act, as reported by PTI.
In another incident, a 19-year-old youth was arrested allegedly for raping a girl living in his neighbourhood by threatening her in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior district, a police official said on Saturday, as reported by news agency ANI.
The incident took place under the jurisdiction of Dabra police station limits in the district on Thursday late at night, around 11 pm, said the official, ANI reported. The official further stated that the incident happened when the family members of the victim were not at home.
The accused was identified as Hemant. After the incident, the girl reached the police station and lodged a complaint against the accused.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Niranjan Sharma said, "The victim lodged a complaint to the police that when there was no body in her house, the accused living in her neighbourhood, Hemant, entered her house and raped her by threatening to kill her," as quoted by ANI.
Meanwhile, in Shimla, a 23-year-old model from Jalandhar was allegedly raped by a youth from Ludhiana. According to the police, the victim informed in her complaint that she was raped by the accused on the pretext of shooting a video, as reported by ANI.
In the complaint registered by the police, the victim said that she had come to Shimla on December 22 and stayed in a hotel in Shimla at night when the accused tried to molest her, according to ANI. The 23-year-old victim lodged a complaint at the New Shimla Mahila Police Station on Wednesday.
