In yet another case of an affair ending tragically, a man allegedly strangled his live-in partner to death and disposed of her body after chopping it into two parts over her refusal to undergo an abortion. The ghastly case came to the fore with the police discovering the body parts of the victim in a field in Barauli two-and-a-half months ago, news agency IANS reported.

A probe into the matter has revealed that victim Khushboo was a divorcee from Paina village. Meanwhile, accused Munna was also from the same village and was in a relationship with her. The couple stayed at a rented house in UP's Gorakhpur after Khushboo's divorce.

The romance took an ugly turn once Khusboo was pregnant and Munna wanted her to terminate the pregnancy. Khusboo's denial led to a heated argument and ended with Munna taking the extreme step.

After strangling Khusboo to death, Munna used a knife to cut her body into two parts. He dumped her body and her belongings near a canal and fled to his village.

The police cracked the case when they found an online shopping company’s wrapper with the address of a spa centre in Gorakhpur from Khuboo's luggage. The spa employees told the police that Khusboo worked there and further information from them helped the police trace Munna and arrest him.

This comes days after a man allegedly stabbed his partner to death in Madhya Pradesh's Indore for refusing to have sex with him. The 20-year-old woman's body was found in a pool of blood two days after the incident. The accused who had fled the spot was arrested after a three-day-long search operation by the police.

Meanwhile, in a shocker from Bihar, a pregnant woman was set on fire by her husband who found out, through an illegal ultrasound, that she was carrying a female foetus. Desperate for a male child, the angry husband doused his wife in Kerosene and set her ablaze.
