Rajasthan Woman Who Sought Lift Gang-Raped In Moving Car In Udaipur

A woman in Udaipur had asked for a lift after waiting for a long time, but the men gang-raped and assaulted her.

A woman was gang-raped and assaulted by four men in a moving car after they abducted her on the pretext of giving her a lift in Udaipur on Wednesday night. The incident took place within the jurisdiction of the Pratapnagar police station area.

According to a report by The Times Of India (TOI), the woman, 40, was waiting for a vehicle at the intersection around 9 pm to return home. But after a long wait, she asked the 4 men in a car for a lift. But they drove past her destination and to Dabok.

During the drive, the two men who were sitting in the back with her sexually assaulted her and allegedly gang-raped her in the car. The assailant took her to a nearby college and beat her with an iron rod, they fled after they abandoned her on the road in a deserted area.

The victim suffered serious injuries to her face and head during the attack. Upon regaining consciousness, she made her way to the college gate, where a guard provided her with water. She then walked to a nearby hotel and informed a guard about the incident.

Upon receiving the information, the Dabok police arrived at the scene and transported her to the hospital. A case of gang rape, abduction, and assault was registered. According to TOI, the victim reported that she came to Pratapnagar for some work on Wednesday.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Chagan Purohit said that the authorities are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding areas. He assured that the accused would be arrested soon and brought to justice.

In another incident, a woman was raped in her home while her husband was held hostage by robbers, who, then fled with Rs 30,000 cash and a bracelet. The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, in Surat, Gujarat.

As per the report, the couple was asleep when the robbers entered the flat on the third floor of a four-storey building. They dragged the woman to the terrace where they gang-raped her. She was threatened so she wouldn’t raise any alarm, and then they fled the scene with the valuables.
