A man has been arrested on the charges of killing his live-in partner, who allegedly refused to have a physical relationship with him, with scissors, reported news agency IANS citing police. The details come three days after police found the body of the 20-year-old woman at the man's rented house in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The body of the woman was found lying in a pool of blood on Dec 9, two days after she was killed, the report added.
The accused had locked the door of his house and run away, police said, as quoted by IANS.
During the probe, police found that the victim was in a relationship with Praveen Singh Dhakad and was living at his Indore house. 24-year-old Dhakad got angry when the woman refused to have physical relations with him and stabbed her in the neck with a pair of scissors, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhinay Vishwakarma said, as per IANS.
The woman started bleeding profusely and died on the spot, he said. Thereafter, the accused panicked and fled after locking the house from outside. Police said that Dhakad, who hails from Guna district, also took away her mobile phone.
The incident took place in the Raoji Bazaar area on December 7 and her body was recovered by police two days later and the accused was arrested on Wednesday after a three-day-long search operation.
Rajasthan Court Sentences Man To Death For Raping, Murdering Minor Girl
A Rajasthan court on Wednesday sentenced to death a man to death for raping a minor girl and murdering her and her minor brother. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5 lakh on the convict, reported PTI. It said the man had crossed the limits of criminality and remarked, "The accused has committed a heinous crime, so capital punishment is warranted."
According to PTI, Public Prosecutor Khemaram Patel said the accused, 22-year-old Arjun Singh of Aasan Jodhwan village in the Siriyari area of Pali district, was found guilty of raping a 10-year-old girl. "He was also found guilty of crushing to death with a stone on May 1 both the girl and her 13-year-old brother. The girl and her brother had gone to graze their goats," Patel said.
