In a shocking incident, a man was arrested for allegedly killing his 20-year-old daughter for spending a day away from home, reported PTI citing police. After killing the daughter, the man tied her body to a motorcycle and dragged it through his village in Amritsar. Police said that the father later dumped the body on a railway track. According to police, as per PTI, CCTV cameras around the area captured the visuals of the man dragging the body of his daughter.


The incident took place in Muchhal village which comes under Jandiala town, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kuldeep Singh said, adding that the accused Bau, a Nihang Sikh, works as a labourer. The DSP told the agency that Bau's daughter left home on Wednesday without informing anyone in the family and returned on Thursday. As a result, Bau was angry at her daughter. When she came back, Bau beat her up and murdered her using a sharp-edged weapon, reported PTI citing police.


The police have arrested the man and booked him under Indian Penal Code section 302 (murder), the DSP said.


Delhi Hit And Drag Case


Earlier this year, a girl was hit and dragged for kilometres after her scooty was hit by a car in Delhi's Kanjhawal area. Police later booked seven men under different sections of the IPC.


Last month, a Delhi court charged accused Manoj Mittal, Amit Khanna, Krishan and Mithun under IPC sections 302 (murder), 201 (Destruction of evidence), 212 (harbouring offender), 120B (Criminal Conspiracy) in connection with the case. Accused Deepak, Ashutosh and Ankush charged with 201, 212, 182, 34 IPC by the court. These three have been discharged from section 120B IPC. Amit has been charged with the section of Negligence Driving. The court will pronounce formal charges on August 14.


The Delhi Police had filed an 800-page charge sheet in the Rohini Court and four out of the seven accused were charged with murder.
