A man was shot by three individuals after he intervened in a fight in UP’s Ghaziabad. According to PTI, the incident occurred on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday at a canteen in a bus stop under the Loni Border police station. The victim, identified as Gaurav, had intervened in a fight between his friend, Aditya and the three people, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Ankur Vihar) Bhaskar Verma said.
Gaurav was shot by a man named Nikhil and two other individuals, the ACP said. He further added that the victim was admitted to the GTB Hospital in Delhi for treatment, he is said to be in critical condition, as per the report.
The assailants fired at Gaurav seven times and he suffered bullet injuries to his thigh, hand and legs, Verma said.
Gaurav had stopped at the canteen to eat dinner with his friends after he returned from a ‘jagran’ in which he played the role of Hanuman. The ACP said that a case had been registered against Nikhil on a complaint by a member of the victim’s family. Efforts are underway to nab the accused.

A 25-year-old BTech student was allegedly shot dead by the father of the woman he was in a relationship with. The father reportedly disapproved of their relationship, which is said to have run into rough weather of late. The victim, Vipul, was shot dead at a flat in Ghaziabad’s Crossing Republik around 3:30 AM on Saturday. The accused, Rajesh Kumar Singh, a resident of Ballia, is a retired Border Security Force (BSF) trooper and currently works for a private security company.
In January, in a similar incident, a 33-year-old man was shot dead by two people when he had rushed to help his friend near VVIP Mall in Raj Nagar Extension in Ghaziabad, according to The Times Of India. He had received a call from his friend around 1 AM, asking him to help with a brawl with two men, he reached with his nephew. He was shot in his shoulder and chest, soon rushed to the hospital by his nephew where he was declared dead during treatment.
