A woman was shot dead in the Guru Teg Bahadur enclave in Delhi, Shahdra, on Monday. The 20-year-old is yet to be identified, the police have started the investigation.

The Delhi Police received a late-night tip-off regarding the shooting. Upon reaching the scene, officers discovered the girl deceased.

According to ANI, Shahdara Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Neha Yadav said, "About half an hour ago, we received a call that a girl has been shot. This is the area of GTB Enclave. Looking at the body, it seems that the girl must be 20 years old."

Yadav said that the body hasn’t been identified yet, and that she was found with two bullet wounds, adding that the full information will only be with them after a postmortem.

The area was cordoned off, and a crime team was called to inspect the scene. Police are scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the culprits, the official said. Police said a case of murder has been registered in the matter.

Woman's Body Wrapped In Blankets

In a separate case, on March 29, a woman's body was discovered inside a house in Shahdara's Vivek Vihar area. Speaking to ANI about the incident, Yadav said, "We received a call at 4:37 that a foul smell was coming out of a house. The number of the house is 118 A, Satyam Enclave. Jhilmil Colony. These are DDA flats in Vivek Vihar."

The house belonged to Vivekanand Mishra, of around 50-60 years of age. Yadav said that a woman’s body was found in the house inside a bag, which was wrapped in a blanket. “The bag was inside a box, and there was an incense stick on it,” Yadav said.

The body has not been identified, and no arrests have been made so far, ADCP Yadav stated, adding that legal action is currently underway.
