The Meerut Police on Wednesday arrested Farhan, a jilted lover from Meerut after an overnight encounter. Earlier in the day the Fatehpur Police nabbed four accused of raping sister-in-law. The Delhi police informed the media that a probe has been ordered in the death of a school boy in Shastri Nagar.

1) Jilted lover, who stalked & killed girl, held after encounter with UP Police


The police on Wednesday arrested Farhan, the jilted lover who shot dead a 17-year-old girl in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut on January 22, after she resisted his advances. Farhan was arrested after an encounter on Tuesday night.


The murder accused sustained bullet injuries in both his legs during the exchange of fire with the police team led by SHO, Falawda police station, Rajesh Kumar Kamboj, the IANS reported.


Circle officer of Mawana area Saurabh Singh said Farhan, 22, had eight cases, including attempt to murder, registered against him in Falawda police station. He said on getting information that the accused was hiding in a neighbouring village, the police team rushed to the spot. Seeing cops, the accused opened fire at the team and in retaliatory firing he sustained bullet injuries. “He has been taken to a hospital for treatment,” the CO said, according to the report.


2) UP Police arrests four men for gang-raping sister-in-law, husband in Dubai accused of orchestrating crime


The Uttar Pradesh Police arrested four people for allegedly gang-raping a sister-in-law and killing her in Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur. According to the police, the four accused were the woman's brothers-in-law and were arrested following a complaint by the woman's family. It is alleged that the victim's husband who is currently in Dubai planned the entire episode, the India Today reported.


On January 20, locals reported spotting the body of a woman in a naked condition, inside a water tank at an under-construction building.


3) Probe Ordered As 12-Year-Old Boy Dies After Alleged Assault By School Seniors In North Delhi


A 12-year-old boy studying in sixth grade in a government school in North Delhi's Shastri Nagar died on January 20, nine days after being allegedly thrashed by his school seniors.


According to the Delhi Police, a postmortem was carried out to determine the cause of his death, based on the findings of which legal action will be taken. The report is, however, awaited.


A senior police official aware of the matter said that the autopsy was conducted by a team of three doctors that was formed on the Delhi government's request. The officer also said that the deceased boy's family had verbally complained of the incident and alleged that some of the senior students in their son's school had assaulted him. They also claimed that a private doctor exercised negligence while providing medical treatment to their son, which contributed to his death.


According to the report, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (north) Manoj Kumar Meena said that the police has asked them to lodge a written complaint. Read more


4) Teen Girl Killed in Thane, Body of Suspect Found on Railway Track


A 13-year-old girl was found murdered on Sunday in an unoccupied room of a chawl, while the body of the alleged accused was found on the railway tracks in Maharashtra's Thane district. It is suspected that a man from Jana district first killed the girl and then committed suicide on the track.


According to A PTI report, the highly decomposed body of teenager was found in a chawl in Kalyan taluka after some residents complained to the police about a foul smell emanating from the room, the police said on Tuesday.


The teenager's body bore burn wounds. Two mobile phones were recovered from the scene. One of the mobile phones belonged to a 22-year-old man whose body was found on the railway tracks at Shahad by the Government Railway Police (GRP) on Monday, the police said.


5. Class 11 girl raped, killed by school teacher in Rajasthan 


A 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped and killed by her school teacher in Barmer district of Rajasthan, according to the police. The body of the girl, a class 11 student, was found in a water tank, they said.


The accused, Prahladram, went to the girl's house on Sunday morning, when her family members had gone to a wedding, and raped her. Later, he killed the girl and dumped her body in the water tank, said Surbhan Singh, Station House Officer, Bakhasar police station, the PTI reported.


The accused is on the run and police is still looking for him
