From impersonating a judge to grant bail to undertrials, to stealing luxury cars, Dhani Ram Mittal was a prolific criminal who is suspected of involvement in as many as 1,000 crimes and had over 90 stints in jail. According to a PTI report published after Mittal's demise at 85 this April, he was named in more than 150 theft cases in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, and Rajasthan. Mittal was a law graduate, and an expert in handwriting and graphology, and used these skills to forge
