Delhi Police has arrested three people, including the main accused Mubin, for allegedly killing a 54-year-old woman and burying her body in a graveyard in the city's Mangolpuri area.
Apart from the three accused, the police have also arrested the caretaker of the graveyard for taking a bribe of Rs 5,000 and allowing the culprits to bury the body.
The police retrieved the body from the graveyard on Wednesday after the accused disclosed it during the interrogation, ANI reported citing police.
The deceased, identified as Meena, was a micro financer who used to give loans to 'Rehri-Patri Hawkers' on a daily basis and had gone missing on January 2.
Outer Delhi DCP Harendra Kumar Singh said, "We registered a missing complaint in Mangolpuri Police Station on January 2. Our teams started the search to find her & during the investigation, we recovered CCTV footage & other evidence. We also apprehended people to interrogate."
According to Police, the woman went missing on January 2 and two accused, Mubin and Naveen, were apprehended during the investigation. "The accused revealed that they along with another accused Rehan murdered the woman," the police said.
They said that Meena was constantly asking them to return previous loans.
The police added, "They buried her in Nangloi Graveyard on the intervening night of January 2-3." Delhi police has also recovered the auto that was used in the crime and has sent the body for a post-mortem, reported ANI.
Further investigation is underway.
