Jammu and Kashmir’s Bhaderwah has turned into a winter wonderland following fresh snowfall in the region. A thick blanket of snow has covered the area. The mesmserising visuals has left people stunned as the top of houses and trees have been covered with snowflakes.
The areas of Poonch was also covered in a blanket of snow as the area received snowfall.
Fresh snowfall in the upper reaches of Bhalesa, Doda, was a sight to behold as the entire region has been transformed into a stunning white landscape. The dry spell that had been affecting the region for long, has finally come to an end, bringing respite to the people.
Doda district also turned into a picturesque white wonderland as it received a fresh spell of snow.
Vaishno Devi, Katra, and adjoining areas also received snowfall.
Fresh snowfall were also recorded in several higher reaches of Kashmir on Thursday. While light snowfall was recorded at the famous tourist resorts of Gulmarg, Sonamarg, and Pahalgam, as well as in Doodhpathri in Budgam district, the plains of the valley, including Srinagar, were lashed by intermittent rain.
Kashmir has witnessed a mostly dry winter this year with the months of January and February recording a precipitation deficit of around 80 per cent. The Meteorological Department said while the weather is likely to remain cloudy from February 21-23, light rain or snow is possible at scattered places on February 24-25, and light to moderate rain or snow at many places is likely on February 26-28.
