The injured were rushed to the district hospital for treatment, where officials from the police and district administration were present to manage the situation. Khandwa Superintendent of Police Manoj Rai explained that the fire ignited when some torches tipped over while being placed down at the conclusion of the event at Ghanta Ghar (Clock Tower). The combustible materials, including oil and powder, caused nearby torches to catch fire, resulting in severe burns for those standing close by.
Among the injured are women and children, with many suffering burns on their faces and hands. A total of 30 people were admitted to the district hospital for care, with 12 reported to be in serious condition. The remaining individuals received first aid before being discharged.

"A tribute programme was organised for the 26/11 victims. Permission for the procession had been obtained by the organisers. During the conclusion of the event at Ghantaghar, the torches held by participants tilted while being placed down, which caused nearby torches to ignite suddenly. Several people, including women, children, and men standing nearby, sustained burns primarily on their hands, faces, and legs. Around 30 injured individuals were brought to the district hospital; 18 were discharged after treatment, while 12 remain under care. Everyone is out of danger," Manoj Kumar Rai, Khandwa SP, said.
