Two people have died, while five others were injured after their bolero fell into a gorge in Okhalkanda, the Nainital district of Uttarakhand, on Monday. As soon as information was received, a police team rushed to the spot.
The incident took place in the Khansyu police station area, and later, the Police engaged in rescuing the injured.
1 Killed After Bus Overturns In Maharashtra's Raigad
A 30-year-old passenger lost his life and 26 were injured after a private luxury bus overturned in the Raigad district of Maharashtra, police said on Monday.
The accident took place on a slope in Karnala while the bus was en route from Mumbai to the Konkan region, an official stated.
According to the official, the driver lost control, causing the bus, carrying 49 passengers, to overturn.
One person, Amol Talwadekar from Rajapur, died in the mishap, and 26 others were injured, he added.
The driver, who fled the scene following the accident, has since been apprehended by Raigad police, the official confirmed.
6 Killed After Auto Crashes Into Bus In Gujarat
In a similar incident, 6 people were killed when an autorickshaw and a bus collided on the Sami-Radhanpur Highway in the Patan district of Gujarat on Thursday.
The accident occurred around 11.30 AM near Sami village in Patan when the state bus, travelling from Himmatnagar to Kutch, and the auto collided.
"All six persons travelling in the autorickshaw, including the driver, died on the spot. The impact was so intense that the mangled remains of the auto got stuck underneath the bus," Patan Superintendent of Police V K Nayi was quoted as saying by TOI.
As per the preliminary investigation, the bus driver lost control and collided with the auto while attempting to overtake. "Prime facie, it appears that the bus driver lost control of the wheel while trying to overtake another vehicle, resulting in the collision," the official stated.
Following the incident, the Local police have launched an investigation.
