A woman was found lying unconscious on the roadside of the PGI area in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh on Friday. The 30-year-old worked as a property dealer and was allegedly in a live-in relationship.

Local residents alerted the local police who rushed the woman to the Apex Trauma Centre in Vrindavan Yojana where the doctors declared her brought dead, according to The Times of India (TOI).

As per the news outlet, the woman was found outside her housing complex, and the local residents identified her as, Geet Sharma.

Her brother, Lalchand filed a complaint at the SGPGI Police Station accusing her partner Girija Shankar of murder. Additional DCP, east zone, Pankaj Singh told TOI, that there were multiple injuries on Geeta’s body, the police are probing to see if the injuries were caused by accident or the result of brutal murder.

As per the report, Geeta Sharma was from Rae Bareli and lived in the PGI area. Her brother, Lalchand claimed Girija had told him that Geeta had met with an accident and was hospitalised. Lalchand also said that his sister had a Rs 1 crore insurance policy, in which she made Girija Shankar the nominee, adding that it could be a reason for the murder.

In a separate incident, a 24-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly opening fire inside his girlfriend's house after she broke up with him in Maharashtra's Beed district. The incident occurred on Friday morning in Ambejogai, but no one was injured.

According to PTI, the accused, Ganesh Pandit Chavan, barged into his girlfriend's house and got into a heated argument with her. When her family members intervened, he took out a firearm and shot at the woman's brother, who managed to dodge the bullet.

Chavan was nabbed within four hours of the firing. The police seized the weapon and a few bullets from his possession.
