A video of a man lying on a railway track and recording the footage while a speeding train passes over him has gone viral on social media. The viral video has sparked outrage among netizens demanding swift action against it.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, the incident occurred near Kusumbhi railway station in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, where the man survived the reckless stunt miraculously.

The video was first shared on Instagram and later surfaced on X, capturing the man lying motionless on the railway track as a train passed over him. Moments afterward, he got up calmly, dusted himself off, and walked away without any visible injuries.

However, his dangerous act drew serious attention. As the video went viral, the Government Railway Police (GRP) swiftly intervened. The individual was identified as Ranjeet Chaurasia, a resident of Nyotani village in Hasanganj, Unnao.

Arrested And FIR Registered

As per India Today reports, Inspector Arvind Pandey of Unnao confirmed the arrest and stated, “We registered a case as soon as we saw the video. The man was identified, arrested, and sent to jail. Anyone found blocking or misusing railway tracks for stunts will face strict legal action.”

During interrogation, the young man admitted that he wanted to become popular by making reels on Instagram, which is why he took this dangerous step. GRP officials stated that such actions are not only illegal but can also be life-threatening.

Officials further explained that making videos on railway tracks falls under Sections 147 and 145 of the Railway Act, which categorise it as a punishable offense, carrying provisions for arrest and imprisonment.
